As a hearing care specialist in Valencia, I always say there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all hearing aid. The best choice depends on lifestyle, sound environment and, above all, each person’s real expectations. Among today’s options, there’s one family that stands out for its balance of natural sound, stability and personalisation: Bernafon Encanta.
Encanta is a modern, versatile family designed for anyone who wants to hear well without complications. Its goal is to deliver stable, natural sound, adjusting intelligently and smoothly to changes in the real environment. In this article I’ll tell you what makes these hearing aids special, how the different versions work, what advantages they offer, and also their limitations. All from a practical, clear perspective based on my day-to-day experience fitting them in clinic.
What sets Bernafon Encanta apart
Bernafon Encanta is the most modern family from Swiss manufacturer Bernafon. It combines natural sound, clarity in noise and very stable adjustment across different environments, which is especially useful for anyone who attends meetings, enjoys social activities or gets around noisy parts of the city.
Encanta isn’t a single product, but a full range with four technology levels adapted to different lifestyles:
- Encanta 100 – CONNECT
Ideal for users looking for essential features with good clarity. - Encanta 200 – GO
Balanced, with stable performance for people who move between quiet settings and some noisy environments. - Encanta 300 – ENGAGE
Designed for active people, with advanced noise management and better understanding in complex situations. - Encanta 400 – PRO
The most complete level. For anyone who needs maximum performance in noise, connectivity and personalisation.
The family also comes in four physical styles:
- Encanta RITE T
- Encanta RITE
- Encanta miniRITE T
- Encanta CIC (completely in the canal)
Each option answers a different need: discretion, battery independence, ease of use, connectivity or aesthetics.
Key technologies in the Encanta family
One of the reasons Encanta works so well in clinic is its technological philosophy, centred on mimicking how the human ear works. This makes the adjustment period quick and natural.
▶ Dynamic Environment Control
Analyses the environment in real time and adjusts automatically. This is especially noticeable in:
- restaurants
- busy terraces
- family gatherings
- walks along noisy streets
The result is more stable listening and less effort.
▶ True Environment Processing™
Preserves the naturalness of sound without making it metallic or artificial. People looking for a smooth, realistic hearing experience tend to adjust very quickly.
▶ Smart Directionality
Directionality adjusts itself according to the situation, prioritising voices and reducing listening fatigue.
▶ Advanced noise reduction
Reduces noise without losing speech clarity, something essential for anyone with an active social routine.
▶ Full connectivity
Compatible with:
- iPhone
- Android
- Bluetooth LE Audio
- Accessories and remote microphones
Enables hands-free calls, music and a stable connection, even when out and about in the city.
Differences between models
▶ Encanta RITE T
The most complete: rechargeable, robust, with a T-coil and maximum connectivity.
▶ Encanta RITE
More discreet and lightweight, ideal for those who want good looks without sacrificing technology.
▶ Encanta miniRITE T
Very small, with a traditional battery and T-coil.
▶ Encanta CIC
Completely in the canal, very discreet and custom-made. Suited to mild or moderate hearing loss. Bernafon expanded the Encanta family with precisely these styles to offer more discreet aesthetic options.
Design and comfort
Encanta stands out for its ergonomics: lightweight, comfortable and designed to be worn all day without discomfort.
The CIC version is especially discreet, something highly valued by people who don’t want anything visible.
Battery and charging
The rechargeable models offer between 18 and 24 hours depending on use. Charging is fast and reliable, with stable, compact chargers, perfect for carrying in a bag or backpack.
Real, stable connectivity
The Bluetooth connection is very reliable. It enables hands-free calls, music and remote microphones without drop-outs.
Bluetooth LE Audio further improves quality and power consumption.
My clinical experience: fitting and results
I want to share what it’s been like working with Encanta in our clinic:
- Natural adjustment from day one
Thanks to continuous processing (ChannelFree) and automatic adaptation to the environment, many patients tell me they don’t feel an artificial “jump” when they start wearing them. - Less listening fatigue
In tricky environments, Smart Directionality adjusts the focus without any input from the user, and Smart Noise Reduction filters out annoying noise. The result is less tiredness by the end of the day. - Easier in group settings
For patients who go to meetings, dinners or group conversations, Smart Sensor makes a real difference: it detects changes and adapts so that listening is more comfortable and easier to follow. - Real, useful connectivity
I’ve had many consultations with people who use phone calls, music or video calls: the Bluetooth LE connection stays stable, and the app (Bernafon App) lets you make adjustments, check the battery, or even find a lost hearing aid. - Battery independence
Charging speed has surprised me too: for many patients, being able to “charge quickly” and get a full day out of it brings real peace of mind.
Who do I recommend Bernafon Encanta to?
Based on my experience, I recommend Encanta to people who value the most natural sound possible, to socially active users who attend meetings and move between different environments, to patients who want a discreet solution (IIC / CIC) without giving up good sound quality, to people who want a rechargeable battery and don’t want to rely on disposable batteries, and to users who feel overwhelmed by manual adjustments
Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Four technology levels that allow precise fine-tuning of the solution.
- Natural, stable sound processing.
- Great intelligibility in conversation.
- Smooth, built-in connectivity.
- Discreet, modern, comfortable design.
- Practical features with no complications for the user.
Limitations
- Not every user needs the PRO level, so a proper assessment is key to choosing correctly.
- In extremely noisy environments, even the top level may need specific adjustments.
- The experience can vary between users depending on lifestyle and expectations.
Bernafon Encanta is a family of hearing aids designed to offer an exceptional balance between technology, comfort and real-world usability. In my work as a hearing care specialist, I especially value its ability to adapt to different lifestyles: from someone who spends many hours at home to someone surrounded by conversation and noise.
Its strengths — natural sound, intelligent processing, modern connectivity and ergonomic design — translate into a hearing experience that genuinely improves my patients’ quality of life. Of course, it’s not a magic solution for everyone: anyone with very specific needs or severe hearing loss should have it assessed in depth, and some adjustments may be needed.
But if you’re looking for a hearing aid that combines “discretion + good sound + ease of use”, Encanta is well worth considering.
