As a hearing care specialist, I’ve worked with many hearing solutions over the years, and one of the most innovative is, without a doubt, the new Phonak Virto Infinio range. These in-the-ear hearing aids are designed to fit each user’s anatomy perfectly, combining cutting-edge technology with a personalised fit for every wearer, delivering a comfortable, natural listening experience.
Custom design and comfort
One of the biggest advantages of the Virto Infinio is that they’re custom-made. Precise impressions are taken of each user’s ears to guarantee a perfect fit. This not only improves comfort, it also optimises sound quality, reducing external noise and improving directionality.
They’re also available in different formats, from fully invisible-in-canal (IIC) options to more accessible, yet equally discreet, models. For anyone looking for a sturdy, long-lasting alternative, the Virto Infinio Titanium model offers greater durability and lightness, thanks to a medical-grade titanium shell that makes it both robust and light. This material allows the shell to be 50% thinner than traditional acrylic ones, resulting in a device that’s 26% smaller and practically invisible when worn.
Advanced technology for natural hearing
The Phonak Virto Infinio features the latest AutoSense OS 6.0 technology to improve speech understanding in noisy environments. It includes smart sound processing and advanced noise reduction.
It also uses artificial intelligence to automatically adapt to different environments, adjusting the sound in real time based on the user’s needs. This makes transitioning between quiet and noisy settings easier, without the need for constant manual adjustments.
Model options
The Virto Infinio line includes different models to suit each user’s individual needs. The Virto I-10 NW O and the Virto I-Titanium are non-wireless options available in IIC (invisible-in-canal) or CIC (completely-in-canal) styles, offering discreet, personalised solutions for mild to severe hearing loss.
Practical benefits for the user
The personalisation of Virto Infinio hearing aids shows not only in the physical fit, but also in their hearing performance. Being custom-made, these devices offer greater comfort and reduce the chance of acoustic feedback. Their discreet design also lets users go about their daily lives without worrying about the hearing aid being visible. The advanced built-in technology ensures a natural, uninterrupted listening experience.
Thanks to the automatic programmes in Phonak hearing aids, they adapt automatically to whatever environment we’re in. We can also add specific manual programmes to suit our lifestyle, which can be switched discreetly by pressing the button on the hearing aid’s battery compartment.
Limitations to bear in mind
Although Virto Infinio hearing aids offer numerous advantages, there are a few things worth considering. Because of their small size and custom design, some advanced features found in larger models may not be available across every model in the Virto Infinio line. Personalisation also means the manufacturing process can take a little longer compared with standard hearing aids. It’s essential to consult a hearing care specialist to determine whether this type of device is the best fit for each person’s hearing needs and lifestyle.
One drawback of this Infinio model is that it doesn’t include Bluetooth technology, so it can’t connect to mobile devices. In exchange, we get its discreet size — thanks to the titanium shell, it’s 50% thinner than other hearing aids in its category.
